In less than a year, the trio has performed at several festivals and clubs, including opening the International Jazz Festival in Banja Luka, Bosnia, in 2024.
STIG ROAR WIGESTRAND, PhD holds a doctorate in jazz violin, in which he researched the playing style of the late French jazz violinist Didier Lockwood. According to Ingrid Monson, Quincy Jones Professor of African American Music at Harvard University:
«Stig Wigestrand’s jazz violin playing is among the best I have ever heard anywhere. He combines fluidity, virtuosity, melodic imagination, excellent intonation, and emotional expression in a manner that few violinists ever achieve».
FRODE KJEKSTAD has performed at renowned clubs such as Ronnie Scott’s in London and Smoke in New York. He is known for his recordings and concert projects with American and European musicians including Dr. Lonnie Smith, Eric Alexander, and Alberto Marsico. Frode’s latest album, Jazz Detectives, received 4 out of 5 stars in Down Beat Magazinein June 2025.
PER MATHISEN is one of Europe’s most active and versatile jazz bassists, with an exceptionally broad musical palette. He has toured extensively across Europe and the United States with some of the biggest names in international jazz – including Mike Stern, Bill Evans, Gary Husband, Ulf Wakenius, and many, many others.
